What Happens to Your Car After an Accident

After a collision, you want two things: your car back exactly as it was, and no complications with your insurer or your warranty. That’s harder than it sounds.

Modern vehicles are built from a mix of lightweight materials, plastics, aluminium and high-strength steel, to meet fuel economy and safety targets. A generalist repairer working without the right jigs, welding methods or paint systems can straighten a panel that looks fine and still leave the chassis geometry out, the safety systems misaligned, or the aluminium improperly repaired. For European vehicle owners, there’s a second risk: an unapproved repair can affect your manufacturer warranty, and non-genuine parts are harder to detect than most people expect.

West Perth Panel & Paint exists to remove that risk. We repair and paint all types of automotive materials to return any vehicle to its pre-accident condition, using the same tooling, welding methods and quality processes the manufacturers themselves require.

40 Years, One Family, Unmatched Quality

West Perth Panel & Paint has been family owned and operated since 1984, when Carl Francesca opened the workshop at 3 Cleaver Street, West Perth, five minutes from the CBD. In early 2017, the business undertook a complete workshop overhaul to become an Audi, Skoda, CUPRA and Volkswagen approved panel repairer, the only one in WA. In the last 27 years of operation, the workshop has never carried out a rectification.

We are passionate about what we do. We never compromise on quality and we thrive on providing the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction.

How We Repair Your Vehcle

We quote directly and liaise with your insurer so the claims process stays out of your hands.

Every vehicle is assessed on our computerised Car-O-Liner collision repair and wheel alignment systems, so structural and chassis damage is measured, not guessed.

Our dedicated aluminium mix-material work bay and specialist aluminium welding methods, trained at Audi AG in Neckarsulm, Germany, handle delicate aluminium body panels to the exact standard Audi, Skoda, CUPRA and Volkswagen require.

We use PPG’s Global Refinish System and Envirobase waterborne paint, plus a dustless sanding system that keeps the workshop and your vehicle cleaner throughout the repair.

Every vehicle gets a final inspection and a brush before it leaves. If you’re not at fault, you may be entitled to a replacement vehicle while we work on yours.

Why The Right Repairer Matters

Choose the wrong repairer and you’re trusting a valuable asset to someone without the aluminium tooling, the factory training or the accountability of a repairer whose name is on every car that leaves the workshop. Get it wrong and you risk a voided warranty, a panel that’s out of alignment, or a resale value hit down the track. Get it right and the car goes back to exactly the condition it was built in.

Why Customers Trust Us With Their Car

We’ve won National Winner, Autobody Repairer of the Year, Best Small Shop WA four times (2009, 2013, 2015, 2018), and National Winner, Best Boutique Panel Shop in Australia in 2018. Our apprentices have taken Gold at the World Work Skills Awards in Lyon and RAC Apprentice of the Year here at home.

None of that matters as much as what customers say when they pick their car up. The finish gets described as indistinguishable from factory. Every vehicle comes back washed, polished and vacuumed, not just repaired.

If you’re nervous about handing your car over after an accident, that’s normal. It’s also exactly the reaction our regular customers say goes away the moment they deal with us.

Our Services

Accident Repair Specialist

From car park scrapes to major collision damage, our shop repairs a range of vehicles, including aluminium and plastic-intensive vehicles that need specialist handling. We work directly with your insurer, so your claim moves quickly and your vehicle comes back as it should.

Auto Body Refinishes

A repair is only as good as the paintwork that finishes it. We use the PPG Global Refinish System with Envirobase waterborne paint, colour-matched to your vehicle’s pre-accident finish, so the repair disappears.

Replacement Vehicle

If the accident wasn’t your fault, you shouldn’t be without a car while we fix it. We arrange a replacement vehicle throughout the duration of your repair, so getting to work, completing school runs and everyday life carries on as normal.

Paint Protection

Paint protection isn’t included in every repair, it’s an optional add-on. If your vehicle had a ceramic coating before the accident, the repaired panels will need it reapplied to match the rest of the car. We use a graphene ceramic coating that creates a hard, glass-like layer, resisting UV fade and stopping contaminants bonding to the paint between washes.
